Meet the Man Behind Those Million-Dollar Words
Looking for Richard Bayan? You've found me! Glad you searched.
Until now, you've probably known me through my advertising books: Words That Sell and its sequel, More Words That Sell. (I also confess to having written a mischievous little book called The Cynic's Dictionary.)
Now you can get to know the person behind the books. Even use me for a project or two. Because I'm available. That's right. I'm now a freelance writer (think of me as a hired gun) and I like it that way. So will you, I hope.
I used to be a company man. But when I was about to turn 50, I decided to jettison my day job and succeed or fail on my own. I had books to write, places to see and things to do (like start a long-overdue family). But I also relished the prospect of helping people who needed my veteran writer's touch.
I’ve been an advertising copywriter and copy chief for nearly 30 years. I’ve won my share of awards. And yes, I'm the author of those books. But I don't think of myself as a big shot. Neither should you. I'm a writer and a problem solver. I'm a pleasant guy to work with, and I don't charge exorbitant fees. After all, I'm here to help you succeed, and I can't do my job if I break your bank account.
One other thing you should know about me: I love words. I love the way they sound, the way they look on the page or screen, the way they create visions in our heads. I'm continually impressed by the power of well-chosen words to influence our attitudes and actions. Choosing the right words is my specialty. Just turn me loose on your audience and watch the results.
Take a few minutes to prowl around my site. Discover what I can do for you and your business. You might be surprised by the range of my writing and consulting services. (I'm more than an advertising copywriter, as you'll find out.) Feel free to contact me and chat about what you'd like to accomplish.
Drop in on my site as often as you like. Share your views, pick up some free pointers and keep me in mind when you need to grow your business. Let’s get to know each other.
All the best,
Richard Bayan

A man of few words never has much to say about zombies loitering in his back yard!

Rick--I assume TNM must now be defunct, as no new postings are appearing. I really enjoyed reading the comments and contributing (as RP). Please let me know if anything similar is available, and if you can inform me how to get in touch with Pearows or Jbastiat. Thanks, and best of luck in your writing endeavors. Bob Perkin
