For two years (2000-2002) I wrote a weekly syndicated column called "Some Cynical Guy" for Upbeat Online, an entertainment news and feature distribution service. The title, which I loved, came from the mind of Upbeat founder Bridget Petrella, and I relished writing those comical mini-rants after two decades of cranking out no-nonsense direct-response advertising copy. You'll find that they're shorter and generally lighter in spirit than my more brooding Tirades.
